Overview
Performs duties under the direction or supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or a registered nurse. Responsible for conducting a focused assessment of the patient to include vital signs and gathering data, implementing established plans of care, and evaluating effectiveness of treatments in the medical practice setting. May float to other practices within the region providing operational support as needed.

What You Will Do- Accurately complete all required clinical documentation consistently per Riverside Medical Group standards.
- Maintain documentation for quality assurance, including point‑of‑care testing, medication logs, and annual wellness visits.
- Work with providers to assure care gaps are routinely addressed with each patient.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, legible, and completed the same day.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in lab functions and proficiency testing.
- Maintain excellent clinical competency by adhering to standard clinical expectations.
- Update, verify, and maintain patient records by properly interviewing patients and confirming purpose of visit.
- Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs proficiently, including manual vital signs when mechanical devices are not available.
- Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and after patient appointments.
- Administer medications and vaccines under physician supervision.
- Assist with processing prescription refill requests for approval and forwarding to pharmacies.
- Maintain medical inventory of supplies and keep exam rooms stocked appropriately.
- Keep equipment in operating order, facilitating preventive maintenance when needed.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, scope of practice, HIPAA, and OSHA standards.
- Complete all required competencies and education to maintain skill level for safe patient care.
- Provide patient education about medications prescribed.
- Explain importance of registration and medical history forms to patients.
- Provide patient follow‑up with urgency regarding lab calls, prescription fills, referrals, and appointment scheduling.
- Answer telephone calls from patients, pharmacies, physicians, vendors, etc. by close of business.
- Communicate lab/pathology results and schedule additional tests per provider order.
- Ensure proper reimbursement from insurance companies by performing pre‑authorization for prescription drugs, procedures, and patient tests.
- Build trusting collaborative relationships with a multi‑disciplinary team to support patient care needs.
- Actively participate in multi‑disciplinary team meetings as assigned.
- Program Graduate, Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
- 1 year nursing experience (Preferred)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire (Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification – American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
