Western Tidewater CSB is seeking a skilled and compassionate Board-Certified Behavior Analyst to lead clinical services and support our crisis therapeutic home.
Western Tidewater Community Services Board Crisis Therapeutic Home (CTH) provides intensive behavioral and crisis stabilization services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (/DD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and significant behavioral challenges. Our Crisis Intervention Home offers a highly structured, therapeutic environment designed to support individuals with complex needs who require short-term stabilization. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate BCBA to lead clinical services and support our crisis response model.
Position Summary:
As a BCBA in our Crisis Intervention Home, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing individualized behavior support plans aimed at stabilizing challenging behaviors and improving overall quality of life. You will supervise direct support staff and RBTs, conduct functional behavior assessments, and collaborate closely with families, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams to prepare clients for successful transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough functional behavior assessments (FBAs) for individuals exhibiting severe behavioral concerns.
Design, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans (BIPs) targeting aggression, self-injury, elopement, property destruction, and other crisis-level behaviors.
Provide ongoing supervision and training to direct support staff and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
Lead data-driven decision-making through frequent review and analysis of behavioral data.
Support staff in real-time de-escalation and crisis management using evidence-based protocols
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (psychologists, psychiatrists, case managers, medical staff, and families) to ensure continuity of care and support discharge planning.
Qualifications:Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with individuals with /DD, autism, and challenging behaviors in residential, crisis, or intensive treatment settings.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
Comfortable in high-intensity environments with clients in acute behavioral episodes.
