Position: Occupational Therapist (Holistic Health and Fitness) with Security Clearance
Duties
* Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to maximize Solder performance and improve unit readiness.
* Develop programs to optimize performance behaviors or mitigate injury risk.
* Perform formal and informal evaluations in the various areas, such as physical, psychological, cognitive, activities of daily living (ADLs), functional and adaptive skills, and work and occupational role performance.
* Plan, coordinate, and implement goal-oriented group and/or behavioral-focused individual treatment programs.
* Apply the use of therapeutic modalities and new integrative techniques and technologies.
* Participate on an interdisciplinary team to coordinate the rehabilitation or wellness activities for individual Soldiers or groups of Soldiers with the brigade.
* Educate on the injury/disease process and its effect on function, joint protection, energy conservation, ergonomic needs, work simplification, and cognitive compensatory techniques. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
* Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
* All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
* Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
* A pre-placement medical examination is required.
* Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
* May be required to work overtime and/or other than normal duty hours for data collection, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
* Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
* This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
* This position may require the incumbent to be assigned a government cell phone and be required to be in an On-Call status after hours and on weekends.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. Degree: A graduate (or higher level) degree that included an occupational therapy curriculum approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained, and completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school. (

Applicants must have passed the national examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). (

You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0631 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before.
