Pay: $17.84 - $22.54 per hour, based on assigned program and shift.

Shifts:

Full-time & Part-time Available - Afternoon/Evening
• Overnight
• Weekend shifts

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is a recognized leader in providing high-quality behavioral health and intellectual and developmental disability services to the citizens of Hampton and Newport News, Virginia. We are currently seeking Direct Care Associates to join our dedicated and professional team. In this role, you will provide essential care and support to individuals across multiple service programs, including developmental disability residential and day programs, Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF), adult mental health residential programs, and residential substance use programs for non-pregnant women, pregnant women, and recently post-partum women and their infants.

Direct Care Associates play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting individuals with activities of daily living such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication support

  • Implementing individualized care plans and following program guidelines

  • Providing emotional, behavioral, and social support in a respectful and professional manner

  • Maintaining accurate documentation and communicating effectively with supervisors and team members

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of direct care experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, or substance use disorders

  • Valid Virginia driver's license and acceptable driving record

  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
