Position: Lead Police Officer with Security Clearance
Duties
* Serve as a Lead Police Officer assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations. Perform police officer duties enforce laws and render assistance.
* Respond to and investigate emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
* Responsible for three or more Department of Army Civilian Police Officers, Military Policeman (MP) and on some installation, DA Security Guards (DASG), while on shift as outlined in the Patrol Distribution Plan (PDP).
* Instruct employees in specific job tasks, techniques and training.
* Serve as work leader of personnel engaged in law enforcement duties for the installation. Distribute shift work assignments to be performed by employees.
* Conduct traffic law enforcement patrol using specialized equipment such as radar, Lidar and breathalyzer.
* Operate motor vehicle which may involve high speed pursuit of suspects. Conduct investigative stops, question, detain, and issue traffic citations as required. Requirements Conditions of employment
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
* This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete the United States Army Civilian Police Academy program of instruction within one year.
* This position requires the incumbent to be proficient in the use of assigned firearms.
* This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid training.
* Incumbent must be able to successfully pass the National Incident Management System (NIMS) training requirements.
* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
* This position will require the incumbent to pass the primary physical fitness/agility test (PAT) within 30 days of employment and an annual one thereafter.
* This position requires certification in the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) in accordance with Army Regulation 190-56.
* The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
* This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment
* This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
* Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license.
* Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
* This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
* This position is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
* Federal law requires removal of a federal law enforcement officers convicted of felonies after the law took effect on January 20, 2001.
* This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
* This position requires the incumbent to wear a uniform and /or protective clothing and equipment.
* Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. Qualifications
