As an R&D Engineer II, you will contribute to the development of new and improved products, processes, and services through research, design, and development activities. Your work will impact product innovation and the ability of our customers to achieve their operational objectives.

- Continues to build knowledge of the company, processes and customers
- Performs a range of assignments related to job discipline
- Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations

- Conduct research, design, and development activities with the goal of developing new or improved products, processes, or services.
- Collaborate with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.
- Apply research theories, principles, and models when conducting experiments and research activities.
- Conduct market research, track projects, build spreadsheets evaluating trade space, design presentation slides, and execute business‑oriented tasks.
- Summarize research results and communicate findings to internal and external bodies.
- Assess the scope of research projects and ensure projects are on time and within budget.
- Develop technical documentation for all projects.
- Utilize CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
- Associate's Degree and 2‑4 years' experience
- Engineering degree required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor's Degree
- Product innovation, product intelligence, product research, project scoping, quantitative research, research and development, research documentation, oral and written communication skills, critical thinking, analytical thinking.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD‑OTS facilities.
- Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
$61,600–$114,400
Pay Transparency StatementThe salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
