VDC Modeler​/Coordinator; Mechanical & Plumbing

A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced VDC Modeler / Coordinator to support mechanical and plumbing construction projects. This is a construction-focused VDC role centered on fabrication-ready Revit models, spooling, and trade coordination.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with the field and seeing their models directly support prefab and installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Model mechanical and/or plumbing systems in Revit to LOD 400, including insulation and hangers
• Generate accurate spool drawings and prefab deliverables
• Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks
• Participate in and support weekly coordination meetings with the GC and other trades
• Interpret construction documents, submittals, and specifications
• Collaborate with field foremen and project managers to validate constructability
• Maintain clean, organized models aligned with internal VDC standards
• Track and communicate modeling progress and clash status

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Revit experience in mechanical or plumbing construction modeling
• Experience with Sys Que, eVolve
  
  MEP, or Fabrication Parts
• Hands-on experience creating spool sheets and hanger layouts
• Working knowledge of Navisworks Manage for clash detection
• Comfortable supporting or participating in coordination meetings
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Solid understanding of MEP systems and construction workflows

Preferred

• Mechanical or plumbing trade background
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360
• Experience supporting field layout or point file workflows
• Exposure to Virginia or Mid-Atlantic construction projects
