Our global equipment supplier and integrator to the Pulp & Paper industry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced DCS Programmer/Process Automation Engineer to join the team in Hampton Roads VA (Hybrid work) out of new VA office location or 100% remote from surrounding states.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation, with specific expertise in Delta
V and/or Honeywell control platforms. This role involves developing, implementing, and optimizing DCS programs to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and safety for North American customers.
- Design and develop DCS programming solutions for process control and automation in the Pulp & Paper sector.
- Implement and configure Emerson DeltaV and/or Honeywell systems to meet project specifications and industry standards. (

) - Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate DCS with other plant systems.
- Conduct system testing and validation to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in DCS technology and apply best practices in system programming.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in DCS programming with preference in bulk processing industries, ideally the Pulp & Paper industry.
- Proficiency with Foxboro (I/A Series and Foxboro Evo/DCS), Delta
V and/or Honeywell control systems. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Legally entitled to work in the US (Citizen or US permanent resident)
- Ability and willingness to travel (typically 5-20%)
