Horizons Hampton Roads - Now Hiring Exceptional K-8 Summer Academic & Enrichment Teachers Who Embody “The Horizons Way” of innovative, student-involved, hands-on learning.

Mission:
To advance educational equity by building long-term partnerships with students, families, communities, and schools to create experiences outside of school that inspire the joy of learning.

Horizons Hampton Roads is seeking highly skilled, innovative educators who believe learning should be joyful, hands‑on, and deeply meaningful. Our teachers bring curiosity, creativity, and compassion into every lesson, helping students grow as confident readers, thinkers, problem‑solvers, and community leaders. Horizons Hampton Roads | Norfolk, VA Enrichment Program

Horizons provides our teaching teams with support to grow your skills and be even more effective in your regular school classrooms. Our goals for student growth – both academically and social‑emotionally – mean we trust in you for the future success of our students and program. We aim to hire and help develop the best of the best.

What It Means to Teach “The Horizons Way” Learning

You nurture academic growth through evidence‑based instruction and active, real‑world learning experiences that spark joy, confidence, and curiosity.

You design and/or deliver project‑based, inquiry‑driven lessons that empower students to create, test, and solve real‑world challenges—helping them see themselves as innovators and leaders.

Belonging

You build a classroom community where every child feels seen, supported, and valued. Children are excited to arrive each morning to experience the safe, engaging environment you create. Through strong relationships, sound SEL practices, and family engagement, you help students develop empathy, resilience, and trust.

Exploration

We believe learning extends beyond classroom walls. Discovery grows through art, nature, and community. By engaging students in environmental stewardship, enrichment, and service‑learning, we help them understand the world and their place in it. Exploration opens doors to new possibilities—and to the belief that their future has no limits.

These four beliefs—Learning, Innovation, Belonging, and Exploration—are more than pillars; they are the promises that define The Horizons Way and the spirit that guides every step of the journey.
