We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Dental Nurse / Senior Dental Assistant to play a pivotal role in supporting clinical excellence, patient experience, and team leadership.
About the RoleThe Senior Dental Nurse is responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality dental care while ensuring full compliance with clinical, regulatory, and infection control standards. This role is central to maintaining an outstanding patient experience and the efficient day‑to‑day operation of the practice.
Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Experience- Ensure treatment rooms are fully set up and stocked for efficient, seamless appointments
- Welcome patients and bring them through early where appropriate
- Provide reassurance and care to anxious or phobic patients
- Regularly check patient comfort during appointments
- Deliver consistently high standards of patient care and professionalism
- Ensure patients receive prescribed medication, Med Pro, and pain relief as required
- Provide a hot towel to all patients at the conclusion of their appointment
- Assist dentists, hygienists, oral health therapists, and dental assistants across all procedures
- Prepare, handle, and maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipment
- Accurately complete patient charting, periodontal charting, and treatment plans
- Take and process radiographs including PA, BW, OPG, and CBCT images
- Lead, mentor, and support the dental nursing team
- Provide training, guidance, and performance support
Oversee surgery room schedules to ensure smooth patient flow - Ensure clear communication between clinical team members throughout the day
- Coordinate laboratory work ordering, receipt, and distribution
- Manufacture CEREC crowns when required
- Complete weekly clinic maintenance and cleaning tasks
- Assist with problem‑solving and workflow improvements
- Maintain and monitor infection control protocols in line with all standards and guidelines
- Oversee stock levels, ordering processes, and prevent shortages
