We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Packaging Technologist to join our client’s dynamic team in the health and beauty sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, testing, and implementation of innovative, sustainable, and compliant packaging solutions for a wide range of products.

This role bridges design, R&D, manufacturing, and marketing, ensuring packaging not only protects and preserves the product but also elevates brand appeal and consumer experience.

What you will be doing:
  • Source and develop primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging components, following customer briefs.
  • Analyse technical drawings and specifications to ensure components are fit for purpose, communicating any risk to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure all new packaging components are shared with internal departments as part of the Packaging Feasibility Process and follow up actions are completed in a timely manner so as not to cause any delay to the development.
  • Determine testing requirements for new packaging components, considering the formulation, functionality of the pack and design intent, organising required component samples for the Technical team to fill in line with the project critical path.
  • Review testing reports and provide guidance on any anomalies.
  • Review customer artwork files to ensure they meet the technical specification, the quoted print specification and comply with CTPA regulation.
  • Use in-house AI database to write detailed specifications for all packaging components
  • Provide technical support to internal departments, attending project meetings and production line trials where necessary.
  • Stay abreast of updates and changes with packaging and sustainability regulations, ensuring that the goods produced are fully compliant.
  • Organise and attend supplier meetings to discuss live projects and keep up to date on latest innovations and trends.
  • Actively source and build new relationships with packaging suppliers to widen supply base.
  • Attend relevant Packaging and Sustainability Trade shows and expert events to stay ahead of the challenges facing the industry and the planet.
What we need from you:

  • An enthusiastic team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Creative mindset
  • Solution based approach to dealing with challenges.
  • Pro‑active, solution oriented and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
