We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Maintenance Technician / Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a high-performing manufacturing and production environment. This is a days only, permanent position offering stability, consistency, and the chance to be part of a supportive engineering function.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, asset reliability, and operational efficiency across site production machinery. You will play a key role in reactive, planned, and predictive maintenance activities, supporting site KPIs, OEE, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver reactive maintenance and rapid breakdown response to minimise downtime
* Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and root cause analysis (RCA) on production equipment
* Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in line with OEM recommendations
* Support equipment reliability, asset lifecycle management, and plant performance
* Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems
* Work with PLC controlled machinery, sensors, drives, and automation systems
* Update maintenance records using CMMS and utilise predictive / condition-based maintenance techniques
* Drive continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, TPM, and reliability engineering initiatives
* Support Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), throughput, and site KPIs
* Source spare parts and support maintenance planning activities
* Promote Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and ensure compliance with all HSE legislation
* Support and coach colleagues, sharing best practice and technical knowledge
About You
You will be a time served maintenance engineer with:
* A completed engineering apprenticeship
* NVQ / BTEC Level 3 in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent)
* Experience with in manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, or process-driven environments
* Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, with working knowledge of hydraulics and fluid power
* Proven experience in fault diagnosis, breakdown recovery, and continuous improvement
* Confidence using hand tools, test equipment, and specialist maintenance tooling
* A proactive, hands on approach with strong problem solving skills
* Good communication, teamwork, and workload-prioritisation abilities
What’s on Offer
* £19.09 per hour
* Permanent, full-time role
* Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm (days only)
* No weekend or rotating shifts
