Job Advert - Project Manager (Civils / Wastewater Projects)

About the Role

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of gravity and pressurised wastewater system projects. In this role, you will manage all stages of project delivery-from pricing and pre‑construction planning through to on‑site execution-ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality outcomes.

You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, internal teams, and supply chain partners to drive project success while maintaining strong commercial, safety, and customer‑focused performance.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

Manage all project phases, ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality, and safety requirements.
Oversee on-site activities through the Site Supervisor and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to gather necessary information, licenses, and permits.
Maintain clear communication across the project lifecycle to support smooth delivery and strong working relationships.

Planning & Documentation

Develop and maintain project programmes in line with CDM requirements.
Prepare and manage Construction Phase Plans (CPP), RAMS, and other essential documentation.
Ensure all documentation remains accurate, up to date, and fully compliant.

Commercial Management

Work collaboratively with the commercial team on scoping, pricing, and contractual matters.
Advise on variations or issues that may impact cost, schedule, or quality.

Customer & Stakeholder Strategy

Support the Customer Stakeholder Manager in planning and delivering effective communication strategies throughout project execution.

Technical Skills & Experience

Experience Required

Proven experience in civil engineering, ideally within the water or utilities sector.
Strong understanding of the delivery of wastewater network projects (gravity and pressurised).

Essential

Valid Driving Licence
Health, Safety & Environmental Management certification (IOSH or Construction Managers Safety Certificate)
Relevant CSCS card
NEBOSH (desirable)

Desirable

Degree, HNC, or NVQ Level 6 in Engineering or Construction Management
