Position: Estimator (Permanent)
Estimator - Mechanical OR Electrical

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 + Vehicle, fuel card, health plan.

An established facilities and building services business is looking to appoint an M&E Estimator to support a growing pipeline of Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC projects. You’ll be joining a stable, well-structured team delivering projects across the public sector and direct client environments, with typical values ranging up to £1.5m.

This is a role where your input genuinely influences project wins, commercial outcomes, and long-term growth. If you enjoy ownership, variety, and being trusted to run with your tenders, this one’s worth a look.

About the role

* Producing accurate, competitive M&E tenders using estimating software

* Managing tenders from enquiry through to submission, end to end

* Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation to identify risk and opportunity

* Preparing clear, well-presented qualitative and commercial submissions

* Analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations for compliance and value

* Attending site surveys and tender meetings where required

* Supporting project teams during handover to ensure a smooth commercial transition

About you

* Demonstrable experience of Estimating either Mechanical OR Electrical

* Confidence reading and working from construction drawings

* The ability to juggle multiple tenders without quality dropping

* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

* Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office

* A proactive, organised approach and clear communication style

* Full UK driving licence

* Ability to pass DBS / background checks (projects include schools and secure sites)

Why This Role Will Appeal to You

* You’re trusted to manage your own workload without micromanagement

* You’ll work on meaningful, technically interesting projects — not repetitive low-value tenders

* Clear progression and development opportunities as the team continues to grow

* A stable employer with long-term contracts and strong financial backing

* A supportive commercial structure around you, not firefighting

Package & Benefits

* 23 days holiday plus bank holidays

* Company vehicle and fuel card

* Overtime available

* Company mobile and full uniform

* Pension scheme

* Health cash plan (dental, optical, physio & wellbeing)

* Employee assistance programme
