Senior Electrical Engineer

A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to take ownership of electrical design delivery across a variety of building and infrastructure projects. This role suits someone who is confident working independently, able to represent the business professionally with clients and project partners, and motivated to support the development of junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead electrical design activities across multiple projects, ensuring high technical standards and full compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., CIBSE and statutory requirements).

* Attend and contribute to design team meetings, liaising confidently with clients, contractors, and wider stakeholders.

* Conduct site and condition surveys, feasibility assessments, and produce associated technical reports.

* Develop detailed design schemes and technical documentation to enable competitive tendering.

* Prepare specifications, calculations (manual and software-based), and budget estimates.

* Provide technical correspondence and guidance to clients and fellow design team members.

* Review tender submissions, contractor working drawings, and provide technical commentary.

* Respond to contractor queries throughout installation and construction stages.

* Attend site progress meetings, monitor workmanship and materials, and track progress against programme.

* Produce snagging lists and oversee final testing and commissioning activities.

* Support financial aspects of project delivery by contributing to valuations, reviewing contractor claims, and assisting with final account agreements.

* Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities to expand services with existing or new clients.

* Supervise, mentor, and support junior and intermediate electrical design staff, communicating any training needs to senior management.
