JOB – CAD Estimator

LOCATION – Hampshire

TERM – Permanent

SALARY – £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience

My client provides specialist engineering solutions in the Construction sector. They are looking for a CAD Estimator with strong technical and customer-facing skills to join their team in Hampshire on a permanent basis.

The CAD Estimator will ideally have the following attributes:

3+ years’ experience working as an Estimator or CAD Technician within the Construction, Building Services or similar sectors
Strong understanding of construction materials, fabrication, and installation processes
Electrical Engineering knowledge would be beneficial too
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)
Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and produce accurate cost estimates
Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Strong customer-facing and relationship-building skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office and general estimating tools
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a project team

The CAD Estimator role will involve:

Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and CAD models to produce accurate quotations
Preparing detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and subcontractor elements
Liaising with clients, architects, and suppliers to clarify project requirements
Producing and submitting professional quotations and tenders
Converting successful quotes into live projects and supporting the project team through handover
Maintaining and updating pricing databases and estimating systems
Supporting the Sales and Project teams with technical input and value engineering options
Ensuring all estimates comply with company standards and client expectations
