A well-regarded, specialist school and children s home is looking for Teaching Assistants and Support Workers to work with children from the ages of 11-18 with Autism and other neurodivergent needs. This is a shift role which may involve evening work to support children residing at the school.

About the School

The school is a Specialist school or Secondary Children with Autism. The school is situated on beautiful grounds with plenty of opportunity for outdoor exploration and learning. Children feel safe and secure at this school and enjoy small class sizes and expert teaching.

The Role

This role involves supporting pupils with complex needs, including those with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and other learning or developmental challenges. You ll work both one-to-one and within the classroom, helping children access learning. Being a good communicator with teachers and other support staff is key.

What We Re Looking For
  • Have experience supporting children with complex needs
  • Are confident working within a classroom setting
  • Can work effectively as part of a team
  • Are patient, adaptable and responsive to individual pupil needs
  • Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2 desirable but not essential)
Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with complex needs
  • Assist with classroom routines and learning activities
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement
  • Support small group work and individual interventions
  • Work closely with teaching staff and contribute to wider school life
