Leasing Manager

We are currently searching for a direct hire Leasing Manager for a 480 bed student housing apartment community located in Hammond, LA! This position will lead the leasing team to achieve all company occupancy and financial goals for the property.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manages all leasing operations to ensure maximum occupancy
• Greets prospective residents and give tours while determining housing needs and preferences and close leads
• Partner with the Marketing Department and Property Manager to create and implement marketing strategies for the community
• Accurately prepares and assist new residents with all leasing paperwork (i.e. lease move-in packets, applications, lease agreements and employment and credit checks) and key distribution
• Collects security deposits, rent and any other charge associated with residents moves
• Communicates all lease and community policies to new and current residents
• Follows up with all leads and prospects that did not lease
• Ensures apartments are move-in ready by inspecting, and adding last minute touches when appropriate
• Manages lease renewal process
• Follows up in a timely manner on all calls, emails and site visits

Knowledge

Skills and Abilities:

• 1-3 years of experience in an apartment leasing role
• Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws
• Extensive experience with leasing and sales, student housing experience a plus
• Strong leadership, training, and decision making skills
• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
• · Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and exposure to social media
• Ability to work day, weekend, and evening hours as required
