As a Leadman at Pratt Industries – Hammond you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production machinery. Key Duties and Success Factors
- Safety & Compliance:
Follow all company safety policies and procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards, and ensure compliance with operational guidelines and OSHA regulations - Quality Assurance:
Inspect products and materials to meet quality standards, follow proper procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in production, and identify and report any quality concerns. - Operational Efficiency:
Operate or learn to operate a variety of machinery, including presses and forklifts. Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions and assist in setup, adjustments, and routine maintenance of machine. - Training & Development:
Participate in periodic training sessions to enhance skills, stay updated on best practices for manufacturing operations, and apply learned skills to improve workplace productivity and efficiency. - Reporting & Maintenance:
Document operational data and report production progress, assist with troubleshooting minor mechanical issues and communicate effectively with team members and supervisor. - Flexibility & Teamwork:
Adapt to changes in work assignments, shifts, and production needs. Collaborate with coworkers to meet production goals and willingly take on additional responsibilities as needed. - Mathematical
Skills:
Able to read tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurements, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math. - Additional duties may be assigned by management.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
- Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred. - 6 Months experience as a Flexo or Die Cut Helper
- 6 Months experience in the Press and Finishing Departments
- Machine Setup:
Ability to follow instructions for machine adjustments and basic maintenance - Material Handling:
Load and unload materials safely and efficiently. As well as Operate forklifts and other equipment as needed (training provided) - Quality Control:
Conduct visual inspections and measurements using basic tools - Production Monitoring:
Observe and track machine performance for optimal efficiency - Technical
