Responsibilities

Our District Manager-In-Training (MIT) program lets you learn and grow within an established company with over 45 years of experience. The program combines hands-on and computer-based training over approximately sixteen (16) weeks. It covers:

  • District Manager – Manage multiple accounts in an assigned territory according to policies, procedures, and federal/state requirements; perform duties of light/heavy housekeeper, laundry worker, and personal clothing worker as needed.
  • Training & Development – Provide leadership and guidance to ensure Environmental Services quality standards, inventory levels, safety guidelines, and customer service expectations; conduct weekly building tours to assess work quality using QCIs for documentation.
  • Reporting – Maintain accurate income and expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment records; review payroll issues, Employee Warning Notices, and assist in open enrollment by providing information and processing applications and waivers.
  • Communication – Act as liaison between the Account Manager, Administrators, and HCSG staff; relay directives effectively to managers and operational leadership.
  • Safety – Use protective gear, follow safety precautions, address equipment/cleaning product needs or malfunctions, and ensure standards, safety, and quality guidelines are met; follow infection control and universal precautions.
  • Punctuality – Maintain consistent attendance and punctual arrival.
  • Customer Experience – Represent HCSG by being courteous and cooperative with supervisors, colleagues, and client staff.
  • Resident Experience – Ensure positive, pleasant interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.
  • Travel – Up to 75% travel required for account/facility visits and regional activities.
Qualifications
  • Positive attitude with ability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in management or related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of Environmental Services experience in a healthcare environment and personnel supervision desired.
  • Ability to complete regulatory compliance courses (sanitation and safety) and implement necessary changes.
  • Ability to lead and support a diverse team with strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Successful P&L and budget management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a record of growing accounts.
  • Must submit to a Motor Vehicle Check and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Basic computer skills, including web-based reporting.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies as required by state, local, and/or customers.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, push/pull 50 pounds, and sustain standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously and work around cleaning products.
  • Willingness to relocate and live in the assigned market.
