Overview
- Promote the Kingdom of God by leading staff and volunteers in ministering and discipling children to further the Mission and Vision of Faith Community UMC.

- Model standards and expectations of leaders within FCUMC, including:
- membership, worship attendance, small group participation in a church
- financial generosity, and serving out of call and giftedness
- Work with the Children’s Ministries team to vision and plan new ways to grow Children’s Ministries to strengthen our Faith Community in worship, group life and service
- Overall leadership of Sunday AM Programming
- Volunteer Recruitment, Training and Schedule for Sunday AM
- Coordinate Children’s Ministries team budget creation and management
- Lead church policies/procedures compliance
- Provide clear, effective, and timely communication to volunteers and families
- Lead events & programming – aiming for a quarterly event (including VBS & other Bible events)
- Partner with Outreach team to build a volunteer infrastructure for Stepping Forward weekly events related to children
- Coordinate Upward basketball Volunteers for game days, and practice nights (as our church has capacity)
- Ensure Safe Sanctuary policies are followed by staff and volunteers
- Active member of the Core team
- Preferred or proven experience in Children’s Ministry
- Track record of successful and effective interpersonal relationships required
- Demonstrated excellence in leading others required
- Excellent team-based leadership abilities
- Exceptional management skills, including the ability to set and maintain boundaries
- Able to train or to organize training for volunteers and staff to participate in ministry.
- Outstanding work ethic; self-starter
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Passionate and relevant teacher who effectively communicates spiritual concepts to children
- Professional behavior and communication in a team-based staff environment
- Great relational skills with both children and adults
- Humble spirit that continually desires to learn and improve
- X Normal periods of sitting and standing in an office environment.
- X Extended period of standing.
- X Lifting and/or pushing small objects on an occasional basis.
