Responsible for coordinating and maintaining product flow in and out of the facility to ensure that product is shipped correctly and as scheduled and to also ensure correct product is received.
A Day In The Life- Inspect and verify all shipping and receiving orders to ensure accuracy of shipment.
- Maintain and request supplies for area as needed.
- Maintain and process records pertaining to all shipping and receiving activities.
- Set up and operate all equipment in shipping and receiving area including postage machine, UPS machine, and Fed‑Ex machine.
- Make suggestions to supervisors for improvement of the shipping and receiving area.
- Perform daily cleanup tasks to keep work areas clean and organized.
- Follow written and verbal instructions from production control supervisors or shipping and receiving lead.
- Ensure proper packaging methods are used.
- Follow all procedures and requirements on exporting orders.
- Deliver all product received to the proper area.
- Process all returned goods.
- Instruct lesser skilled employees in shipping and receiving area.
- Operate computer as needed to check on and receive orders.
- Operate forklift and other transportation equipment in the shipping and receiving area as needed.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Overtime, including weekends, may be required.
- Wear all required PPE for the specific work area.
- Continued employment requires reliable and dependable attendance, including for employees with disabilities.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills normally acquired through a high school diploma or GED.
Qualifications- One (1) year experience in a similar environment or six (6) months as Shipping and Receiving C with Continental.
- Knowledge of traffic management and export procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret all shop orders.
- Good knowledge of all specific parts manufactured.
- Ability to read and interpret all shipping/receiving instructions.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- General knowledge of computers and shipping/receiving machines and equipment is a plus.
