Job Title: Shipping Clerk – 1st Shift
Location: Hamilton, OH 45011
Pay Rate: $16 - $18/hr
Work Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00am – 4:00pm
Overview:
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of materials into and out of the facility while ensuring all incoming and outgoing products meet approved drawings, specifications, and regulatory standards. This role supports quality inspection, SAP transactions, shipping and receiving logistics, and cross-functional coordination with production, planning, and quality teams.
Job Specifications:
Receiving Inspection & Quality Control
Perform incoming, first article, in-process, and final inspections per approved drawings and procedures.
Conduct dimensional verification and product testing using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
Determine acceptance or rejection based on defined criteria and document results per procedure.
Generate Quality Notifications (QN) in SAP for discrepancies, including detailed defect descriptions and affected quantities.
Quarantine nonconforming materials and escalate issues to production management and planning.
Assist with rework coordination and reinspection activities.
Participate in audits and layered process checks.
Train new inspectors on policies, visual standards, and measurement processes as directed by Quality Assurance.
Maintain accurate and legible inspection and testing records.
Shipping, Receiving & Logistics
Verify incoming materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documents.
Complete all required SAP transactions related to shipping and receiving.
Pick, pack, and ship orders using UPS/Fed Ex and other shipping systems.
Ensure proper labeling, documentation, packaging, and export compliance.
Execute pick ticket pulling, subcontracting procedures, and material delivery to designated areas.
Process RMAs with appropriate documentation and inspection.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (certification required or obtained within 30 days).
Maintain 5S standards, manage supplies, and complete daily cleanup tasks.
Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain regular attendance, including overtime as needed.
Cross-Functional & Compliance Responsibilities
Utilize SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) for documentation and execution.
Follow import/export procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
Support inventory accuracy and cycle count activities.
Escalate safety, quality, delivery, or compliance concerns immediately.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
2+ years of shipping/receiving experience and/or 3–5 years of QA/QC experience (combination preferred).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and shipping documentation.
Proficiency with metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, scales, tape measures).
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Basic math skills and strong written/verbal communication.
Forklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
Familiarity with ISO requirements and regulatory standards.
Experience generating QN/NCR in SAP preferred.
Experience training on quality criteria and visual standards preferred.
Experience in logistics and dispatch coordination preferred.
