The Corrugator Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the corrugator department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role leads corrugator crews, drives performance metrics, minimizes downtime, and partners with maintenance, quality, and scheduling teams to meet production and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Operations & Production
- Manage all aspects of corrugator operations, including setup, run performance, changeovers, and shutdowns
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Monitor production metrics including uptime, waste, speed, and efficiency
- Troubleshoot corrugator performance issues and coordinate corrective actions
- Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, train, and develop corrugator operators, assistant operators, and support staff
- Schedule labor to meet production demands across assigned shifts
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and corrective actions as needed
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and a positive shop-floor culture
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA requirements
- Lead safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe operation of equipment
- Quality Control
- Ensure board quality meets customer specifications (ECT, Mullen, caliper, warp, etc.)
- Partner with Quality teams to investigate defects and implement corrective actions
- Maintain compliance with ISO, GMP, and customer quality standards
- Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate with Maintenance to minimize downtime and prioritize repairs
- Support preventive maintenance schedules and equipment upgrades
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, waste reduction)
- Drive process improvements to improve throughput and reduce scrap
- Communication & Reporting
- Communicate production performance, downtime, and staffing needs to plant leadership
- Participate in production meetings and cross-functional planning
- Maintain accurate production and labor records
Note: Required and Preferred are listed below.
- Required
- 3+ years of experience in corrugated manufacturing
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a corrugator environment
- Strong working knowledge of corrugator equipment (BHS, Fosber, Mitsubishi, Agnati, etc.)
- Solid understanding of board grades, flute profiles, adhesives, and quality testing
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Preferred
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement programs
- Familiarity with CMMS and production reporting systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery
