PRIMARY FUNCTIONWe are searching for a confident, experienced substitute teacher to join our team. We're interested in you if you are a friendly and competent professional interested in education. Your duties will include assigning homework, managing classroom activities, and compiling reports.
To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of effective teaching practices that ensure learning is a comfortable and meaningful experience. Our ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with a strong command of the English language.
QUALIFICATIONSLicensure:
Current valid Substitute Educator License with Stipulations.
Education:
Required – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in any field.
Experience:
Preferred – Two (2) years of prior successful substitute teaching experience working with a diverse student population in an urban school setting.
- Adhering to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher.
- Following procedures and achieving lesson goals.
- Assigning and explaining homework.
- Overseeing students outside of the classroom, including in the hallways and cafeteria.
- Complying with all school regulations and policies at all times.
- Taking attendance and documenting daily notes.
Ensuring the classroom and work stations are kept clean and orderly. - Overseeing the normal classroom rhythms and activities.
- Compiling a report for the teacher for when they return.
- Diapering may be required.
- Other duties as assigned by the school and district administration.
- Handle confidential information professionally.

SALARY RANGE- Professional Educator License (PEL) – $180.00/day
- Day to Day Subs to the District – $195.00/day
- $251/day (defined as a person requested to serve for 2 weeks or longer in one classroom)
