Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

- Operate, monitor, and maintain high‑pressure steam boilers (minimum 100 PSI operating pressure).
- Perform boiler start‑up, shutdown, troubleshooting, and routine operator maintenance.
- Maintain accurate operating logs, equipment records, and daily reports.
- Conduct water testing (hardness, phosphate, sulfite, pH, conductivity) and adjust treatment as required.
- Perform monthly fuel‑oil testing runs and monitor fuel storage and handling equipment.
- Ensure boiler efficiency meets manufacturer‑recommended standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on boilers, burners, pumps, valves, condensate systems, DA tanks, VFDs, water softeners, and associated equipment.
- Support annual boiler inspections, including opening, cleaning, prepping, and assisting licensed inspectors.
- Conduct daily testing of low‑water cutouts and safety controls.
- Assist with steam distribution system maintenance (valves, traps, insulation, piping, supports).
- Valid Montana Boiler Operator License per Montana Code Title 50, Chapter 74 (or equivalent licensing).
- Minimum two weeks of supervised training on the specific RML boiler plant systems (provided after hire).
- Ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physically able to perform duties in a boiler plant environment (lifting, climbing, confined spaces).
