Bitterroot Health is seeking candidates to fill a Central Scheduler position in our Patient Access Services Department. The Central Scheduler is responsible for scheduling, interviewing, and, when applicable, pre-registering all patients utilizing Bitterroot Health services. This includes entering the appropriate diagnostic testing order, demographics, and insurance information into the hospital information system to facilitate patient care and hospital billing procedures. In doing so, the Central Scheduler helps to ensure that patients flow through the scheduling and registration systems as quickly and efficiently as possible, while also ensuring all fiscal procedures are followed in a consistent manner.
The Central Scheduler functions as a liaison for patients with questions regarding their insurance coverage, preparations, or general questions. The incumbent also performs clerical duties assigned by and under the direct supervision of the Patient Access Manager and/or Director.
Minimum Qualifications:- Education: High School Diploma or General equivalency diploma (GED) required. Courses in medical terminology beneficial.
- Job Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
:
Minimum two years hospital/physician office experience preferred. Prior scheduling, patient accounts, unit clerk, or medical assistant experience preferred. Surgical and diagnostic experience preferred.
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
