The Role

Responsible for the domestic services function within hospital and community premises through the effective deployment of staff resources to ensure effective cleaning methods, the control of infection and the promotion of a safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors.

  • Completed Management of Aggression module
  • Knowledge of Payroll Systems
  • Elementary Food Hygiene (provided internally)
  • Experience of First Line Management (provided as personal development)
  • Knowledge of Human Resource Policies and Protocols
  • Experience working as a domestic within a preferred Public Sector environment
  • Basic IT Skills
  • Full, valid driving licence required to travel between locations

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have
  • Domestic Supervisors Training Programme (provided internally)
  • Elementary Food Hygiene (provided internally)
  • First Line Management (provided as personal development)
  • SVQ in cleaning science
  • BICSc qualification in healthcare
  • Qualified to ILM Standard
  • Experience of working within an NHS environment including awareness of Health & Safety Practices, & COSHH
  • Domestic Services Monitoring experience
  • General awareness of NHS business.
  • Good communication skills – including written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work as an individual and also as a team member.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and make appropriate decisions
  • Ability to cope with the demands of the department over a wide range of issues
Contract type

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern
  • This role will be based in Domestic Services within Hamilton Locality.
  • This post will cover Udston Hospital & Beckford Lodge - Full, valid driving licence required to travel between locations
  • The working pattern for this role Monday - Friday (3:00pm - 8:00pm)
