Team Leader, Environmental Services – South Lanarkshire Council
Location: Brandon Gate, 1 Leechlee Road, Hamilton, ML3 0XB
Hours: 35 per week – Monday – Friday 8:45am – 4:45pm (Fri 8:45am – 4:15pm)
Salary: £50,622 – £51,370 annual

Position overview: South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a self‑motivated Team Leader to deliver specialist Environmental Services work. The role will develop and drive forward projects, conduct background research, collect and analyse data for complex, sensitive service functions, and allocate work in line with the service plan.
Responsibilities- Develop and drive specialist projects and areas of work.
- Conduct background research, data collection and analysis to support service performance.
- Allocate work according to the service plan, ensuring effective resource use.
- Supervise officers, ensuring work progress and target achievement.
- Lead enforcement of Fly Tipping, Littering, Dog Fouling and the Stray Dog Service.
- Experience in criminal enforcement or related enforcement is preferred.
- Knowledge of Environmental Crime areas (Fly Tipping Enforcement, Enforcement of Fly Tipping, Littering, Dog Fouling).
- Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Health (REHIS) or equivalent to use the protected title is an advantage.
- Current driving licence and ability to travel within South Lanarkshire.
- Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills.
