We offer hybrid working which involves 3 days per week being office/site based. This position is based in our Epsom or Peterborough offices.
As a River Engineer in the D&AT practice, the successful candidate would have the following responsibilities:
Responsible for inputting and/or preparing technical deliverables such as design reports, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work with defined scope. Provide technical input into project design deliverables for River engineering aspects of multi-disciplinary projects and work with the River engineering team lead to recommend input into overall project milestones and programmes.
Work independently with moderate technical guidance. Use technical experience and judgement to solve design problems where appropriate and provide informal guidance to junior team members.
* A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* Chartered Civil Engineer.
* Takes broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to design problems.
* Ability to work independently with moderate technical guidance.
* Experience in Water market is preferred and experience in wider markets such as Aviation, Defence, Highways or Energy is desirable.
* Demonstrates strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively within diverse multi-disciplinary teams.
* A proactive, highly motivated mindset with a collaborative approach to drive teamwork and shared success across projects.
Proven experience in delivery of technical design work as part of a River engineering design delivery team for a design consultancy. Requires broad knowledge and practical experience in design such as flood walls and embankments, weirs, hydraulic structures, culverts, scour protection, access and accessibility and construction logistics. Practical knowledge of current design codes and standards as well as industry best practices.
