Bookkeeper

Jenson Fisher are delighted to be supporting our long-standing client based in Glasgow to recruit a Bookkeeper on a permanent, full‑time basis. Our client is a successful firm of Chartered Accountants with a loyal and growing client base, delivering services including accounts production, tax returns, and payroll services with a firm focus on maintaining quality whilst maximising client satisfaction.

Working as part of an established and friendly bookkeeping department, as the Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include:

• Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping activities using accounting software such as Sage and Xero.
• Prepare and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Provide add‑hoc payroll cover, experience not required.
• Assist with quarterly VAT reviews and submissions for a range of different clients.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

The successful candidate must have sufficient bookkeeping experience to manage their own workload in a professional and efficient manner. You will possess strong communication skills alongside the ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders as required. Ideally, you are looking to secure a role where you can put your bookkeeping experience to good use in a fast‑paced working environment;

experience working for a firm of accountants would be preferred but is not essential.
