As a Field Operator, you will be responsible for safely transporting hazardous materials and supporting operational needs across the Western Canada region.
Key Responsibilities- Ensuring safe driving practices and proper handling of products in compliance with Baker Hughes policies, customer requirements, and all applicable federal, provincial, and local regulations.
- Loading and unloading hazardous production chemicals.
- Operating vehicles safely and courteously on public roads.
- Adhering to all traffic laws and oil company-specific rules and regulations.
- Accurately record delivery-related information.
- Operating forklifts as required.
- Communicating effectively with managers, plant personnel, and office staff for loading, delivery, and route planning.
- Performing warehouse and yard duties as needed to support Canadian market operations.
To be successful in this role you will:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Commitment to safety and alignment with Baker Hughes core values.
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license is a must with a minimum of 5 years of driving experience.
- Previous chemical delivery experience.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Knowledge of Transport Canada regulations for dangerous goods.
- Ability to log hours per Transport Canada requirements (E-Logs installed; must be able to complete paper logs if necessary).
- Experience loading/unloading trucks from bulk tank farms.
- Understanding of load securement regulations.
- Basic computer skills.
- High level of integrity, responsibility, and organizational skills to maintain equipment and complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs daily.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Availability for on-call work as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and assigned truck.
