What you're responsible for
Supervise and mentor a team of licensed 421A mechanics, apprentices, and experienced technicians
Oversee daily repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities for a wide range of heavy equipment
Diagnose repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems with efficiency and accuracy
Conduct inspections and implement preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
Support task scheduling, work prioritization, and planning in collaboration with the Maintenance Team and Operations Team
Lead Monthly Shop Supervisor Safety Inspections and promote a culture of safety‑first
Utilize CMMS (Maximo) for work order management, reporting, and maintenance tracking
Organize and maintain the shop environment, including tools, inventory, and parts
Provide clear direction and delegate tasks effectively to maximize team productivity
Qualifications
Valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (an asset)
Proven supervisory experience in heavy equipment maintenance
Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
Proactive problem‑solving approach with a focus on continuous improvement
Physically fit and comfortable working in demanding, outdoor industrial environments
Previous experience with CMMS systems (an asset)
