Job DescriptionThe Cultural Resources Team at AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Project Archaeologist to work out of any one of our Ontario AECOM Offices to contribute to the growth and diversification of our archaeology team. The successful candidate will assist in managing, coordinating, and completing various archaeological assessments and associated reporting in accordance with provincial standards while meeting the needs of our diverse range of clientele.
This will be a full-time role starting as soon as possible.
Job Requirements- Support the management of projects from the proposal phase to report completion, including coordination of multidisciplinary teams to successfully execute project deliverables.
- Complete projects within client’s scope/budget/schedule expectations.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors and Indigenous partners.
- Complete archaeological reports in compliance with the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism (MCM) standards.
- Familiarity with the MCM's archaeology and heritage online portal (Past Portal).
- Firm understanding of the MCM's Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists.
- Prepare and implement field health and safety materials.
- Pay attention to detail and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Work as part of a team and independently.
- Hold a valid Research or Professional class license issued by Ontario MCM.
- Demonstrate understanding of the pre-contact and historic artifacts found in Ontario.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in archaeology, anthropology (or in progress), or a related field.
- 4+ years consulting experience in a Project Management role and field experience.
- 8+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate logistics for multiple field teams.
- Experience with field effort tracking – collection and management of all field data.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
- Cover letters must demonstrate how education in a related field is an acceptable equivalent.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65,000 to $90,000.
