Job Title: General Labour (Events)
Location: Hamilton, ON
Shifts: Afternoons, Evenings, Nights - Casual, ON-CALL
Pay: $17.60/hour
General Labour associates are responsible for the setup and teardown of event spaces in downtown Hamilton (athletics, musical, and professional events). This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that ensures events run smoothly and efficiently. Associates may be required to lift up to 50 lbs, depending on client specifications, and should be prepared for last‑minute scheduling requests.
YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK CASUAL, ON-CALL SHIFTS WITH FLEXIBLE AVAILABILITY ON SHORT NOTICE.
- Set up event spaces including staging, furniture, equipment, and signage according to client specifications.
- Break down and restore spaces to their original condition after events.
- Lift, move, and handle materials safely (up to 50 lbs when required).
- Collaborate with event supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
- Follow all safety protocols, including wearing steel‑toed safety boots/shoes.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Previous experience in a general labour role.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Available for flexible, on‑call shifts.
- Able to lift 10-50 lbs during a shift.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Able to meet uniform requirements (plain black shirt and pants, CSA Safety shoes).
