Pet Smart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) is responsible for providing exceptional service to pet parents and supporting a high‑performing team while upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role will deliver professional‑quality services with the utmost focus on the quality and care of pets. The Salon Experience Lead will support the development of bathers and new stylists, seeing them through the entire pet stylist development program.

• People Leadership: Facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development through training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance management. Develops new and existing associates through bather and/or stylist certification processes, identifies candidates for academy training, delegates daily salon tasks, addresses complaints, and celebrates associate engagement.

  Ensures a positive pet parent experience across all touchpoints, greets and supports pet parents, recommends wellness solutions, drives rebooking at checkout, communicates promotions, manages booking systems, maintains store standards and compliance, performs full menu grooming services, promotes salon sales, maintains cleanliness and humane conditions, reports sick or injured pets, and communicates business trends and facility needs to leadership.

• 2+ years grooming experience; may be required to complete a technical exam.
• Full‑time availability required with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with tools, equipment, and products to perform technical work safely.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.

• No direct reports, but expected to guide and support the development of other associates.
• Provides feedback on associate performance to the direct supervisor.

• Requires standing, walking, climbing a ladder, and using hands for handling, writing, etc. Frequently needs to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and communicate.
• Must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift more than 100 pounds.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, a wet environment with pet hair, and moderate noise levels. Exposure to live animals and handling is common.

Exact rate of pay will be based on relevant experience level, training, skills or knowledge, and store location. This position is paid on a per‑hour basis, and in no instance will Pet Smart pay less than the local minimum wage. This position is also eligible for benefits as described at

Part‑time employees in Saskatchewan only may be eligible for medical and other benefits after completing six months of continuous service and working an average of at least 15 hours per week.
