Brownstone Insurance Managers is a specialized insurance intermediary based in Ancaster, Ontario. We focus on commercial property, casualty, auto, and program business across both domestic and international markets, including Lloyd’s of London.

Job TypeFlexible working hours and hybrid work environment (1-2 in-office days per week).
Pay Range$45,000 to $90,000 depending on experience.
Qualifications- 3+ years of commercial underwriting experience (preferred)
- CIP designation (preferred or currently working toward it)
- RIBO license (or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with domestic carriers and Lloyd’s of London markets (an asset)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and general computer literacy
- Underwrite and manage a portfolio of small to mid-sized commercial P&C risks, including new business, renewals, and endorsements
- Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers within your delegated underwriting authority
- Build and maintain strong broker and stakeholder relationships
- Provide expert mentorship to junior underwriters
- Support and suggest enhancements to underwriting guidelines, processes, and workflows
- Represent the company at industry events and broker meetings as needed
- Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless broker and client experiences
- Contribute to the profitable growth of our underwriting portfolio
