Position: Residential Shift Supervisor - Dorothy Day Place - Full Time

Overview

HOURS - Monday to Friday
- Afternoon and overnight rotation

Rate of Pay: $27.58/ hour - $32.87/hour (Starting salary will be determined by factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions)

Retention Bonus: $1000 after 3 months with an additional $1000 at 9 months.

How You Will Make An Impact

The Residential Shift Supervisor will provide both the Housing Support Worker and Residential Support Worker employees with mentorship, support and coordination related to shift responsibilities, and individual client care plans. The Residential Shift Supervisor will also be responsible for:

  • Onboarding, orientation and training of new staff
  • Providing leadership and support to frontline staff, including debriefing, facilitation, conflict resolution and crisis intervention
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and coordination to team members to support consistency and quality in all service provision.
  • Provide insight and input, as required, to the performance evaluation process.
  • Provide direct client service to program participants.
  • Provide service in a dignified, culturally safe and respectful manner that reflects the charism of Good Shepherd, and which reflects an integrated anti-racism/anti-oppression, feminist framework.
  • Participate in team meetings and team decision making.
  • Maintain records of service statistics, client records and program records as directed.
  • Identify trends, gaps and emerging issues relevant to the experiences of program participants.
  • To maintain the confidentiality policy of Good Shepherd Centers at all times.
  • Be knowledgeable of all individual care plans, including capacity and support needs.
  • Observe all health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
What You ll Bring To Our Team
  • Completion of post-secondary diploma in social services or equivalent, plus 2 years  work-related experiences required. Understands and utilizes trauma-informed, feminist, client-directed, anti-oppression, anti-racism frameworks with a thorough understanding of a range of issues impacting cis women, transgender and non-binary people, including homelessness, gender-based violence, poverty, mental health and substance use.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience to support/enhance service/residential environment that is culturally safe.
  • Demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge in the provisions of gender-inclusive services, particularly, in responding to the needs of Trans and non-binary individuals.
  • Supervision experiences an asset.
  • Residential experience is an asset.
  • Continuing education in management an asset.
  • Organizational skills to provide client assessments, direct service, and documentation are required.
  • Computer literacy is mandatory.
  • Must be committed to principles of harm reduction.
  • A G driver license and ability to drive Good Shepherd vehicles is an asset
