Overview:

The Finance Department Limited (TFDL) specializes in the Strategic Placement of Accounting & Finance Professionals on a Contract or Permanent basis. For over 25 years, TFDL has been successfully servicing a select group of clients, providing them with the best Intermediate-to-Senior level talent in the industry. (BMH3xR1) Our client, a leader in the Steel industry, is seeking a Director of Finance who will be directly responsible for all financial and accounting matters in the company and be a key member of the senior leadership team.

This role reports to the VP Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company
  • Full cycle accounting
  • Project accounting
  • Oversee and prepare financial statements for holding companies & joint ventures
  • Preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Annual budgeting & forecasting
  • Preparation of inter-company balances & cash flow statements
  • Oversee and complete the month-end accounting cycle
  • Tax, compliance & reporting
  • Administration of external groups:
    Banking, Insurance, Bonding, CRA, Healthcare Provider, etc.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Qualifications:

  • CPA
  • University business degree
  • 8+ years of experience with full cycle accounting and financial statement preparation
  • Project Accounting experience in the Construction Industry
  • Consolidation of financial reporting
  • Budget development and maintenance
  • Corporate tax knowledge and compliance
  • Experience with Great Plains & Microsoft Office
  • A team player with the ability to work and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Integrity, positive attitude with a strong work and business ethics
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task successfully
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
