Job Title: Estimating/Bidding Advisor

On-site/ Remote/ Hybrid: Onsite

Location: Hamilton, ON

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 annually

• Lead a team of junior estimators - delegate tasks and review work
• Review RFQ documents for risks and opportunities
• Develop BOM's Labour hour estimates and subcontractor scopes and pricing
• Liaise with cross-functional departments (engineering, procurement, operations, finance) to develop estimates
• Review subcontractor and material quotes for accuracy and completeness (risks and opportunities)
• Support operations with change order quotations (as requested)
• Develop preliminary project schedules with cross-functional teams (HR, Operations, planning, etc.)
• Generate and submit proposals and manage proposal deliverables

• Background in ship repair, shipbuilding, heavy marine, or offshore O&G
• Demonstrate experience in dry docking projects, steel renewals, machinery installation and overhaul, complex refits
• Foundation in marine engineering or naval architecture
• Advanced Excel workforce & cost modelling
• Business Central or equivalent ERP systems
• Strong understanding of steel grades, marine coatings, propulsion systems, and electrical systems
• AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of class, PSPC, CCG, and DND requirements
