Role Description

The Digital E‑Commerce Merchandiser plays a key role in ensuring high‑quality online inventory presentation, supporting e‑commerce performance, and enhancing the customer shopping experience across all Queenston Automotive Group websites. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role is responsible for producing high‑quality vehicle photography, maintaining accurate online vehicle listings, updating digital storefronts, and contributing to the dealership group’s online merchandising strategy. The Merchandiser collaborates with sales, BDC, service, and marketing teams to ensure all inventory is accurately displayed and optimized for conversion.

Key Responsibilities 1. Inventory Photography & Visual Presentation
  • Capture consistent, well‑lit, high‑resolution photos of all new, used, and traded‑in vehicles for all dealerships.
  • Ensure vehicles are cleaned, staged, and photographed according to brand and internal standards.
  • Edit photos using third‑party portals or Adobe software, including background removal and branded overlays.
  • Create window stickers with QR codes for all used inventory units.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace for efficient photoshoot flow and retake images when needed.
2. Vehicle Descriptions & Content Accuracy
  • Research pre‑owned vehicles and write accurate, compelling descriptions including trims, features, warranty details, and review‑based insights.
  • Verify all information using Carfax history and dealership documentation.
  • Audit aging inventory to ensure descriptions remain accurate and error‑free.
3. Website & Online Inventory Management
  • Update vehicle statuses (Coming Soon, Sale Pending, Sold, Delivered) across websites and third‑party platforms.
  • Extract or generate vehicle barcode labels for online use.
  • Add or remove vehicles from the JP Motors website as inventory changes.
  • Update Google Business Profiles with new inventory as required.
  • Identify aging inventory and support markdown strategies with the Marketing Manager.
4. Inventory Maintenance & Database Accuracy
  • Ensure vehicle availability, pricing, and status are always current and synchronized across platforms.
  • Review delivery documents and update online listings accordingly.
  • Apply banners, photo labels, and correct vehicle classifications consistently
5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work with Sales Managers, Service, BDC, and Wholesale to confirm vehicle location, readiness, and status.
  • Communicate discrepancies clearly and elevate issues as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing team on merchandising gaps, opportunities, and content needs.
6. Video Support & Other Marketing Tasks
  • Assist when needed in producing walk‑around videos for website and social media.

Participate in broader marketing initiatives as assigned.

7. Any other duties assigned by the Marketing Manager or Director of Marketing

Qualifications & Skills Education
  • Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Marketing, Journalism, Business, or related field preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in digital advertising, online merchandising, or related digital roles.
  • Automotive dealership experience considered a strong asset and a passion for automotive is a must!
Technical Skills
  • Strong computer literacy and digital proficiency.
  • Ability to operate photography equipment and editing tools (Adobe preferred).
  • Comfortable working in website platforms (Wordpress), CRM/DMS systems (CDK/PBS), and third‑party automotive platforms.
