Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Tax Preparer located in Hamilton, ON. The Tax Preparer will be responsible to

  • Prepare and file personal income tax returns (T1)
  • Prepare and assist with corporate tax returns (T2)
  • Prepare GST/HST returns and related filings
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end bookkeeping
  • Review client documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Communicate with clients to request missing information and clarify details
  • Ensure compliance with CRA regulations and deadlines
  • Assist with CRA notices, adjustments, and general inquiries
  • Maintain organized and accurate client files
  • Support the accounting team with related tax tasks as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience preparing Canadian personal and/or corporate tax returns is preferred
  • Strong understanding of CRA rules and tax compliance
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Good communication and client service skills
  • Proficiency with tax software (experience is an asset)
  • Working towards CPA designation or enrollment in a recognized accounting program is an asset
