School Social Worker Supervisor – Whitney Hall School
Hamden, CT | Full-Time | Exempt
Support Student Success Beyond the Classroom
The Children’s Center of Hamden is seeking a School Social Work Manager to provide clinical leadership, supervision, and direct care within our Whitney Hall School program
. In this role, you will support youth and families by addressing non-academic barriers to learning while guiding a team of school social workers and clinical interns.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring equitable access to services, high-quality clinical practice, and positive outcomes for students through collaboration with educators, treatment staff, families, and community partners.
What You’ll DoAs School Social Worker Supervisor
, you will:
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to Whitney Hall School Social Workers and clinical interns
- Serve as the clinical liaison with PRTF programs and participate in evaluations, treatment team meetings, case reviews, and PPT meetings
- Support referral, screening, and intake coordination in collaboration with school administration
- Oversee implementation of social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum and trauma-informed practices
- Lead case consultation meetings and professional development for social work staff
- Support treatment planning, crisis intervention, and risk assessment as needed
- Ensure documentation and service delivery meet agency and regulatory standards
- Carry a limited caseload when needed to maintain continuity of services
- Collaborate with families, school districts, and outside agencies to coordinate care
- Support continuous quality improvement and data-informed program development
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program success
- Holds Connecticut License Master of Social Work (LMSW) with appropriate school or clinical experience; LCSW strongly preferred •
Must hold Social Worker Certification ( #071) with the Connecticut Department of Education - Experience supervising or mentoring staff preferred
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and child/adolescent development
- Strong documentation, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary treatment team
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to perform light to moderate lifting, standing, walking, bending, and other physical tasks as needed
- Potential exposure to bodily fluids and other environmental hazards in a school-based setting
