Social Worker in Hamden, CT

A full-time School Social Worker opportunity is available for the  school year in Hamden, CT. This role involves working Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM within an elementary school setting. The primary focus will be providing individual and group counseling services to support students' social and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual counseling sessions tailored to student needs
• Facilitate group counseling to address common challenges and promote social skills
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and external resources to support student success
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies and state regulations
• Monitor and assess student progress and adjust interventions as necessary

Qualifications:

• Active 071 Connecticut School Social Work License
• LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) certification is required
• Experience working within an elementary school environment is preferred
• Strong interpersonal communication and counseling skills
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
