The Children’s Center of Hamden is seeking a qualified Temporary School Social Worker to provide critical coverage during the School Social Work Manager’s maternity leave. The role requires an LCSW licensed in Connecticut and a valid #071 School Social Worker endorsement through the CT State Department of Education. The ideal candidate brings professional maturity, strong clinical judgment, and demonstrated supervisory experience, and will also provide clinical supervision to the school’s Social Work team.

• Provide direct school-based social work services to students, including crisis intervention, counseling, and case management.
• Offer clinical supervision and guidance to school social workers to ensure high-quality, compliant, and student-centered practice.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, clinicians, and families to support student well-being and intervention planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state, agency, and school requirements.
• Participate in an overlap/shadowing period with the School Social Work Manager to ensure smooth handoff and continuity of services.
• Support district-wide behavioral and mental health initiatives and assist with team communication during the leave period.

• Active Connecticut LCSW license (required)
• CT #071 School Social Worker endorsement (required)
• Prior supervisory or clinical leadership experience preferred
• Experience providing school-based mental health services strongly preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and crisis-management skills
