Overview

We are hiring immediately for a WAITER/WAITRESS position.

Quinnipiac University, 275 Mt. Carmel Ave. Hamden, CT 06518.

Schedule:

Part Time. Wednesday & Thursday night shifts available. More details upon interview. Requirement:
Previous food service experience preferred. Fixed Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour.

• Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room; take food and beverages in an efficient manner, following established steps of service.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards. Follow up to assist with additional needs or requests.
• Demonstrate understanding of menu items and ingredients. Advise guests on combinations of food and drinks, accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences. Be aware of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
• Communicate directly with back-of-house staff to ensure accurate orders and accommodation of special requests.
• Exhibit strong communication skills and collaborate with guests and staff; remain flexible and patient.
• Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
• Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
• Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared.
• Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
• Ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service; maintain sanitation standards and cleanliness.
• Operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines as needed.
• Collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
