A PACT MSO has a busy Gastroenterology office with a Medical Administrative Assistant role. Positions are located in Hamden, Milford and Guilford and will rotate between all office locations. Work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
The Medical Administrative Assistant position supports a department, provider, or manager by performing duties as directed.
Essential Functions- Assist with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, follow up, etc.
- Responsible for schedule utilization, cancellation and wait list management
- Coordinate tests, procedures, and lab appointments for patients
- Provide patients with information and respond to patient inquiries
- Schedule and coordinate meetings
- Assist with all patient portal questions
- Obtain and confirm demographics and patient insurance
- Reconcile charges in EHR daily
- Obtain authorizations or referrals
- Communicate information appropriately, accurately, and timely
- Create, obtain, and maintain provider reports and distribute to appropriate staff, management, facilities and providers
- Identify and communicate inconsistencies of information in reports to appropriate staff
- Train other administrative assistants
- Ensure all agreements and contracts are up to date
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience in a medical office setting as an administrative assistant preferred
