Role DescriptionThe Business Banker, VP is responsible for driving profitable sales growth through the acquisition, expansion, and ongoing management of a business banking portfolio. This role focuses on originating and structuring business lending solutions, growing core deposit relationships, and deepening client engagement across the Bank’s product and service offerings.
The Business Banker, VP actively identifies new business opportunities, builds strong referral networks, and serves as a trusted advisor to clients by delivering tailored financial solutions that support their growth objectives. In partnership with internal teams, this role leads the credit process from opportunity identification through underwriting and closing, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s risk appetite, lending policies, and performance goals.
As a senior sales lender, the Business Banker, VP plays a key role in achieving portfolio growth and revenue targets through proactive calling efforts, community involvement, networking, and participation in Bank-led sales initiatives. The role requires strong market awareness and a deep understanding of industry trends, competitive dynamics, economic conditions, and lending structures to effectively manage risk, optimize portfolio performance, and position the Bank for long-term growth.
Qualifications- Expertise in Business Relationship Management, including building and maintaining productive partnerships with clients
- Experience in Finance and understanding of market trends to provide strategic guidance
- Familiarity with Small Business operations and the specific financial services they require
- Proficiency in managing Loans, including evaluating, approving, and overseeing financing options
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop client-focused financial strategies
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making abilities
- 10 - 15 years of experience in commercial lending experience or related finance experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced certifications preferred
Pay Range: $90k-140k base + Commission. Starting pay is determined based on several factors, which can include the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic area.
