Senior Plumbing CAD/BIM Designer

Job Description

We are a commercial plumbing contractor seeking a Senior Plumbing CAD/BIM Designer to serve as the primary designer for all design-build plumbing projects. This role is responsible for producing accurate and constructible plumbing drawings using AutoCAD and Revit. The position supports estimating with quantity takeoffs and maintains a well-organized and consistent drawing system across all projects. This is a production-focused role and all engineering reviews and stamping are handled externally.

Responsibilities

* Produce plumbing drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, incorporating BIM modeling.

* Develop permit sets, coordination models, riser diagrams, details, and shop-level documents.

* Translate design intent, field input, and redlines into constructible documents.

* Coordinate models with architectural, structural, and MEP backgrounds.

* Support clash detection and coordination as required.

* Perform quantity takeoffs from CAD and BIM models.

* Assist estimating with system counts, scope validation, and constructability input.

* Identify conflicts, scope gaps, or value engineering opportunities early.

* Manage organization of all project drawings and models.

* Maintain consistent file structure, naming conventions, and revision control.

* Ensure current drawings are clearly identified and archived properly.

* Help establish and maintain internal CAD/BIM standards.

Essential Skills

* Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.

* Working proficiency in Revit MEP/BIM modeling.

* Experience working with or for plumbing contractors, with a preference for design-build projects.

* Solid understanding of plumbing systems and constructability.

* Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple active projects.

* Ability to work independently and take ownership of drawing production.

* Experience in plumbing design, commercial design, and mechanical design.

* Qualification in plumbing design or related field.

Work Environment

The work environment requires the use of AutoCAD and Revit software for drafting and modeling. The role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously and requires a high level of organization. The candidate should be comfortable working independently within a structured yet dynamic setting, adhering to established CAD/BIM standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Haltom City, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
