Neighbourhoods Driver​/Operative

About this role

Dual role combining transport services and neighbourhood operative duties. Operates a minibus for SEND transport, performs maintenance and waste management tasks across Calderdale’s green spaces and street scene.

• Transport passengers safely and comfortably in accordance with the schedule.
• Operate minibus for SEND morning and afternoon runs.
• Perform neighbourhood maintenance: grass cutting, waste collection, street cleansing.
• Adhere to council policies, procedures, anti‑discriminatory practice and statutory requirements.

• Category D1 licence required;
  Category B licence holders with >2 years may apply with training.
• Age over 21.
• Medical exam required prior to appointment.
• Physically fit: bending, lifting, walking regularly.
• Calm under pressure, flexible with varying hours including weekends, bank holidays, evenings.
